BEML has bagged further orders in Metro from M/s Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) for ‘RS15’ - design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of 80 Nos. Broad Gauge Intermediate Cars compatible with existing ‘RS1’ type trains for the conversion of 6-car train set to 8-car train set valuing Rs729cr.

In September, BEML supplied the first driverless metro coach to Mumbai Metropolitan Area Development Authority’s (BMRDA) Mumbai Metro project, giving a boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

BEML had previously bagged orders worth Rs3,015cr from MMRDA for the supply of 378 metro cars (63 metro train sets of 6 cars each) for Mumbai Metro Corridor 2 and 7. 

BEML Ltd ended at Rs941.35 down by Rs14.75 or 1.54% from its previous closing of Rs956.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs963.90 and touched a high and low of Rs983 and Rs936.05 respectively.

A total of 82,353 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter.

The current market cap of the company is Rs3,919.78cr.
