Indian benchmark indices opened in the red on Monday even as Asian stocks traded higher.
The Sensex opened lower by 100 points, however, quickly swung the other way to trade higher by 56 points at 40,380. The Nifty also reversed losses to trade higher at 11,915. (9.30AM)
NTPC, Yes Bank, and Tata Motors were the top gainers, while Sun Pharma, Infosys, and IndusInd Bank were the top losers.
Sectorally, all indices except Nifty IT and Pharma traded in the green. Nifty PSU Bank (+1%) led gains lifted by Bank of Baroda which posted stellar Q2 numbers.
Nifty Realty traded higher for the fourth straight session, thanks to the FM's booster dose for housing realtors last week.
