The Indian rupee opened lower by 10 paise against US Dollar on Wednesday. The local unit had opened at 70.77 a dollar amid mixed cues from other Asian currencies due to uncertainty over US-China trade deal. The yield on the 10-year Indian government bond was at 6.519% compared with its previous close of 6.518%.
The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against a basket of major currencies, was at 97.886, up 0.10% from its previous close of 97.983.
On Tuesday, the currency ended 8 paise higher at 70.69 against the US dollar on the back of foreign fund inflows.
