The Indian rupee opened lower by 7 paise at 71.05 against US Dollar Thursday in the early morning trade.

The currency is trading lower against the dollar, tracking losses on the Chinese yuan and other Asian currencies following reports that signing of the US-China interim trade deal could be delayed until next month.

The local unit on Wednesday fell by 28 paise to close at 70.97 against the US dollar.

Besides, Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs1,011.49cr, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs1117.25cr in the Indian equity market on November 6, as per provisional data available on the NSE.

Meanwhile, the Sensex jumped 181 points and the Nifty50 also rose 41 points to trade above 12,000.
