The Indian rupee opened flat on Monday, down by 1 paise at 71.13 against US Dollar. The 10-year government bond yield was trading at 6.588% from its previous close of 6.602%.
The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against a basket of major currencies, was down 0.03% at 97.658 from its previous close of 97.69.
Besides, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs338.86cr and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs285.41cr, as per provisional data available on the NSE showed.
Meanwhile, oil prices were mostly steady amid optimism that the United States and China were close to signing a trade deal to end a tariff war, with President Donald Trump saying an agreement would be signed “very shortly”.
