Market Opens: On July 26, benchmark indices opened lower with Nifty launching the August series on a weak note as it fell below 11,250.
The Sensex is down 51.05 points at 09:17 hrs IST at 37779.93, while Nifty is down 9.90 at 11242.30.
Approximately 312 shares have progressed, 384 decreased, and 30 unchanged shares.
Biocon, South Indian Bank, Vedanta, Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing, Bharti Infratel, Coal India are some of the leading index winners, while JSW Steel, PVR, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, IOC, Dr Reddy's, Infosys, HCL Tech and ONGC are the losers.
All industry indicators are marginally smaller in trading. Also smaller are the Midcap and Smallcap index. Rupee Opens: The Indian rupee opened at 69.12 per dollar lower by 8 paise on Friday versus closing at 69.04 on Thursday.
