Rupee opens to the US dollar flat. Tuesday's Indian rupee was little altered against the US dollar as markets await the parliamentary testimony of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for hints to the political position of the central bank.
The Indian unit, having opened at $68.64, was at $68.70 a dollar at 9:03 a.m., down 0.03 percent from its prior 68.66 close.
The dollar got a boost from powerful U.S. job information published on Friday, which eased expectations of a big interest reduction by the Fed at its monetary policy review conference later this month and also caused a recovery in Treasury returns.
