Indian equity indices made a weak start on Thursday, with the Nifty losing the 12,100 mark. The Sensex also shed 163 points and was trading at 41,035. (9.26 AM)
Sectorally, all indices traded in the negative with Nifty Metal losing the most, followed by Nifty Pharma and PSU Bank.
Pidilite, Escorts, and SBI were among the top gainers on the Indices in early trade, while losers included IOC, BPCL, TCS, and Tech Mahindra.
Results today include Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Infratel, Indian Oil Corporation, Andhra Bank, LIC Housing Finance, Bajaj Holdings, Colgate Palmolive (India), Dabur, Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries, Delta Industrial Resources, Equitas Holdings, Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals, JK Tyre, Jubilant Industries, Laurus Labs, Vimta Labs and Persistent Systems.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 16 paise at 71.41/$.
Asian markets fell as the virus outbreak in China claimed more lives. The Fed Reserve kept the policy rate unchanged.
